GREAT EXPECTATIONS

IMG_0016.JPG
Please don’t feel insulted if what’s good enough for you, isn’t good enough for me. I’m simply striving for greatness and these are my great expectations.

Don’t be alarmed if you don’t see me on the weekends. Because to me, my weeks have no end. I’m simply striving for greatness and these are my great expectations.

Don’t be surprised when I refuse to celebrate my college graduation. This is merely just a milestone, I’m forever learning. I’m simply striving for greatness and these are my great expectations.

I ask you not to get angry if I choose not to reveal all of my goals and aspirations with you. I’d rather work hard in silence. I’m simply striving for greatness and these are my great expectations.

If I cut you out of my life, it’s because even if my life were empty there still wouldn’t be any room for negativity. I’m simply striving for greatness and these are my great expectations.

Forgive me if I seem hard to please or discontent. I literally came from the bottom, so these visions of success are not mine but heaven sent. I’m simply striving for greatness and these are my great expectations.

About Lazarus_of_Montserrado

Lazarus (Hebrew: “God will help”) Siafa was born in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa. A once abundantly prosperous and promising nation that was crippled by poverty, violence and corruption in the late 80’s to early 90’s due to a Civil War that lasted approximately 14 years. This blog is a collection of thought provoking, spirit lifting and ambition driven poems as well as spoken word written by Lazarus for those who share a similar dream and perception of life. The vision that no matter the obstacle, failure, setback, trial or loss in life that you hold the power to overcome it all. You may have been born to lose but in time can be built to win and God willing can accomplish whatever your heart desires.
