DEAR FUTURE

IMG_1296.JPG
Dear future, I wanna walk by faith and not by sight. Be somebody else’s guiding light. Possess the strength to carry these burdens even if it means that I have to fight.

I wanna learn and earn wisdom with a certain tenacity. Until this brain of mine is filled to it’s maximum capacity.

I wish to leave a lasting impression in the hearts of my enemies. As the hate blinds them, my unwavering compassion shall allow them to see.

Thoughts of me forever in their minds like footprints in the sand. As they ask themselves how much disappointment can one man truly stand?

A certain predecessor handed us a legacy at the beginning of life. It’s left with us to maintain it no matter the amount of strife.

Despite what you may of been told, I assure you no one knows what the future may hold. If that be the case, excuse me as I speak to my fate. Dear future, if it’s not too late..I wanna be great!

About Lazarus_of_Montserrado

Lazarus (Hebrew: “God will help”) Siafa was born in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa. A once abundantly prosperous and promising nation that was crippled by poverty, violence and corruption in the late 80’s to early 90’s due to a Civil War that lasted approximately 14 years. This blog is a collection of thought provoking, spirit lifting and ambition driven poems as well as spoken word written by Lazarus for those who share a similar dream and perception of life. The vision that no matter the obstacle, failure, setback, trial or loss in life that you hold the power to overcome it all. You may have been born to lose but in time can be built to win and God willing can accomplish whatever your heart desires.
